How does a microneedling treatment work?During treatment, small microchannels are made in the skin. This is done through a special dermapen. The dermapen is equipped with tiny needles. These tiny needles go at high speed and perpendicular to the skin. This does not damage the skin but it is actually stimulated and activated to produce new cells, resulting in the start of the natural healing process. The treatment is fast, accurate and effective. Instructions before and after treatmentAt Van Lennep Kliniek we do everything to ensure that the microneedling treatment goes as well as possible. We do this not alone but together with you. We have some instructions for you to follow, both after and before treatment. Before treatment we advise you to protect your skin from sun exposure or tanning beds. This for the duration of 3 weeks. We also ask you to protect your skin with SPF 30 to SPF 50 every day during these 3 weeks. After the treatment, the skin may flake. After a few days this reaction disappears. It is important not to scratch the treated parts of the skin. The treated area should not be waxed or plucked during the treatment. We also advise against swimming, hot showers and the sauna for the first 24 hours after the microneedling treatment.
